The Hartford Parks and Recreation Department provides extensive outdoor and indoor recreation opportunities. The park system has a mix of active area and passive sites located throughout the community. The active park areas include lighted tennis and basketball courts, playgrounds, horseshoe courts, soccer fields, baseball/softball fields, skate park, nine-hole disc golf, dog park and fishing along the river and millpond. The Rubicon River paved trail system passes through the center of the community connecting many parks along the corridor trail.
Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center, an outdoor waterpark that features a lazy river, zero depth play area, 50-meter competition pool, water basketball, tube & body slides and diving board. The Signicast Family Aquatic Center includes a pool, a fitness center, and a large indoor gymnasium.
