SUMMARY:Maple Syrup Family Day
DESCRIPTION:The Richfield Historical Society (RHS) invites all to welcome spring at its annual Maple Syrup Family Day. Richfield Historical Park is located at 1896 Hwy 164\, Richfield WI 53076\, 1/2 mile north of Hwy 167. Admission is FREE. \n\n\n\nSpring brings a whirlwind of activity to the RHS sugar shack\, where the sap collected from maple trees in the park is cooked into syrup. Syrup-making demonstrations will be held throughout the day\, with discussions of the history of maple sap products. Syrup will also be available for sale\, while supplies last. \n\n\n\nThis year’s event will feature a pancake and sausage breakfast with real maple syrup\, served from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Hot dogs and chili will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Maple cotton candy will also be available throughout the day. \n\n\n\nThe Pioneer Homestead area will be open with demonstrations of lard rendering\, old-fashioned cooking\, and weaving on the antique loom. Kids will enjoy watching the chicks in the barn! \n\n\n\nStop by the Blacksmith Shop for demonstrations of the smithy’s art and peruse the items for sale. \n\n\n\nThe mission of the Richfield Historical Society\, a 501c3 non-profit corporation\, is to discover\, collect\, preserve and promote the history of the Village of Richfield.
