SUMMARY:Thresheree & Harvest Festival
DESCRIPTION:Richfield Historical Society (RHS) is hosting their 26th annual Thresheree & Harvest Festival event. Experience field demonstrations including steam engine threshing\, log sawing\, plowing\, and draft horses. See a steam-powered sawmill\, antique engines\, trucks\, and tractors. There are plenty of children’s activities\, including a children’s reserved play area and vintage games at the Welcome Center. Enjoy live music and a variety of food items will be offered to purchase.Tours of all the park’s historical buildings will be free\, including the Messer-Mayer grist (flour) mill. Built in 1871\, the mill ground wheat\, rye and cattle feed for the following 83 years. In 1954\, George Mayer\, the last Mill operator\, closed the doors leaving all the equipment intact\, just waiting to once again grind grain. Wander through the Mill and learn about its restoration and operation.Make it a lovely outing in the park!Funds raised at the Thresheree and Harvest Festival and other RHS events support the Society’s educational programs as well as maintenance of the Richfield Historical Park.
